Korean traditional soybean paste (Koreanname:doenjang) is made by fermenting soybean with salt. Often grains and sometimes other ingredients are added. Soybean paste is an important base for many Korean dishes. It is mainly used in soups and stews and also served as a dipping sauce to specific dishes like wrap dishes.
